Improve client login time

https://schneiderampla.atlassian.net/browse/CE-1960

[System Info]
Ampla Versions: 7.2.0.432

[Raised by]
Customer Company: IOC
Customer Contact: Todd Stubbert[todd.stubbert@ironore.ca]

[Problem Summary]
IOC is complaining that Ampla seems to be a lot slower after upgrading to 7.2.
After some observation, the real problem seems to be that the Ampla PA, both desktop version and web version seems to be a lot slower when run from a remote machine compared to running it on the Ampla server itself.

  1. Login time. Running PA(web and desktop) on prod, takes about 10 seconds to login once you click the login button. Login time on the other hand is wildly inconsistent when running the client on test machine connecting to production. It takes any where between 15 seconds to a minute.

This should not be a network latency issue as the ping from Prod to test is 1ms. Tracert shows it’s a 1 hop between the 2 machines. It is unlikely to be network bandwidth issue either as IOC did not have this complaint before the upgrade.

There doesn’t seem to be a system resource issue as the problem only happens when client is remote and this problem seems to be widely experienced by many users.

Please advice how we can help IOC resolve this issue.

[What is the impact to Customer/s]
Our main contact Todd sees this as the biggest problem with IOC now that they have upgraded to 7.2 from 6.5 but everyone in IOC perceives the performance of having downgraded.

Closing this as it was logged against 7.2 version, we have not had any subsequent tickets raised regarding login time performance. Will open a new ticket if a new request comes in.
