Ampla Backfill

A number of times over the years we have used Ampla's OPC HDA capability to generate event records (and calculated associated KPI's) for time periods in the past.

Being able to tap into the value stored within Historian time series data tags has allowed us to:

• Validate delay accounting models

  • Reporting point layouts (masking etc)

  • Capture conditions, start and stop delays

  • Repair the Ampla data repository post data connection outage or similar.
    

• Sell using a customers own data

  • Present the solution capabilities using a thin slice of the customers asset/process

  • Dive into the data and info produced to highlight obvious value with the minimal effort being made
    

• Provide customers with a productised capability to retrospectively implement an Ampla solution

  • Ampla's ability to generate event records, KPI's etc. using past data is a something that would set our offer apart from the competition.

  • After validating the various data capture models, the customer can unlock massive value from knowing how well their assets and processes performed in the past (using machine data they already have).

  • This is something we have sold several times in the past (backfilling the Ampla solution), and this was performed using fiddly, time consuming methods.

Is this something we can achieve by altering the time horizon of the tag pools within the OPC HDA data connector?
