We created this site to hear your enhancement ideas, suggestions and feedback about AVEVA products and services. All of the feedback you share here is monitored and reviewed by the AVEVA product managers.

Downtime 'Comments' - Enable filtering of values

Currently we cannot enable filtering of values on the standard 'Comments' field.

Traditionally this has forced us to use the 'Explanation' field and rename it to 'Comment'.

Unfortunately using the 'Explanation' field is now not viable as we cannot increase the data entry char length beyond 200 characters (apparently due to the introduction of sparse columns).

So, it appears that we either increase the acceptable char max on the 'Explanation' field to over 200 or enable filtering on the 'Comments' field.

Note: Many legacy projects use the renamed 'Explanation' field and i'd assume customers will not be happy with the revised character max limitations post upgrade (to a version of Ampla with sparse columns).
