We created this site to hear your enhancement ideas, suggestions and feedback about AVEVA products and services. All of the feedback you share here is monitored and reviewed by the AVEVA product managers.

Enhanced User Management based on AD Groups

Creating user accounts in Ampla is an unnecessary complication when they could be automatically created based on AD Groups. 

Standard practice has us configure an Ampla User for an AD Group. The downside to this is that the Ampla User (which is usually something like Ampla_Operators) is:

  • is recorded in the Audit Log
  • displayed in Production Analyst
  • the owner of any Favourites

If the WindowsIdentity of the logged in user was used instead of the Ampla User for the above, we could have true SSO and user management entirely outside of Ampla Studio.
