We created this site to hear your enhancement ideas, suggestions and feedback about AVEVA products and services. All of the feedback you share here is monitored and reviewed by the AVEVA product managers.

Prediction Mode (Open Loop)

Provide a "prediction mode" for the controller where it can read the values from the DCS and predict the steady state values of the CVs but it cannot write back the setpoints to PID controller in DCS. Read-only connectivity to the DCS, moves are calculated but not sent to the process.

This would allow us to verify tags are correctly mapped between the MPC and DCS, verify the scripts are properly functioning, and check the accuracy of the model.

    I like the idea. Do you think MPC should generate MV moves and "as if" it was in Closed Loop (Active) or should the controller stay in Ready mode?
