Retrieving License Statuses for Alarming in OMI/WIN-911 from SP

The System Monitor has a rule category called "License Server Alerts". This allows the monitor to catch; "Alert on licenses that expire within X day(s)", for example. Additionally, through the rule category named "SMC Logger (Filter)" it is possible to catch alerts on demo mode and/or grace period issues.

Since retreiving and using data from the SentinelDB (System Monitor DB) in System Platform is not well supported as of now, it would be great if all license statuses were made available from within the System Platform IDE directly. Using data from SentinelDB within SP is not well supported since no heartbeat like the "SysPulse", which is found in the Runtime database, exists for the SentinelDB. Resolving System Monitor alerts from SP is also not supported. This creates an issue if one has configured alarms/alerts in SP/WIN-911 based on SentinelDB data; these alarms/alerts would then have to be resolved in the System Monitor WEB GUI, and not simply through SP.

Hence, a feature that makes every license status easily accessible from within the SP IDE is needed for license alarming/alerting within OMI applications/with WIN-911. This feature could have a large impact in that it can increase the robustness of our customers' systems and possibly aid in increasing their uptime. For example; by providing the possibility to implement real-time license monitoring within the SP IDE, developers could for example catch the previously mentioned "Alert on licenses that expire within X day(s)" to proactively fix any license issues before they ever become a problem.
