Compatibility Testing: Aveva software & AI-Based AV — CrowdStrike

Based on the latest trends in cybersecurity and the higher industry requirements, it would be beneficial to have more options for Antivirus (AV) software that could be tested in a controlled environment with AVEVA software. Not having the vendor endorsement for these solutions creates both cybersecurity risks and uncertainty regarding compatible options.

    We are currently testing with CrowdStrike; however, it is not feasible for us to test against every antivirus or endpoint protection product on the market. Antivirus solutions generally include, as part of their value proposition, the expectation that they do not interfere with other software running on the system. System Platform does not make a corresponding claim that it will work with all third-party software.

    For that reason, the responsibility for ensuring compatibility should primarily sit with the antivirus provider. That said, we are making an exception in this case by validating against CrowdStrike. Based on this testing, the idea will be marked as “Planned”.
