Dependency on NTLM Authentication for Network Account in System Platform

System Platform currently requires NTLM authentication for the Network Account.
However, Microsoft is progressively restricting or disabling NTLM in Windows Server 2022 and later as part of their security hardening roadmap.

This creates a conflict between AVEVA product requirements and corporate security baselines, especially in regulated OT/ICS environments where NTLM is considered non-compliant.

AVEVA should:

Remove dependency on NTLM for Network Account authentication
Support Kerberos / modern Windows authentication mechanisms
Publish clear interim guidance for current supported versions when NTLM is restricted or audited
Provide a defined roadmap and target release (e.g. System Platform 2026) for NTLM-free operation

Reference / Context

Microsoft has publicly stated NTLM is deprecated and being restricted in newer Windows versions
Customers may apply stricter NTLM policies not only to new systems but also to existing Windows Server 2022 servers
