AVEVA Historian official support for Proxmox VE

I would like to propose the inclusion of Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE) as a supported hypervisor platform for AVEVA Historian.

Proxmox VE is a robust, open-source virtualization solution that combines KVM and LXC with a powerful web interface and enterprise-grade features. It is increasingly adopted in industrial and IT environments due to its flexibility, cost-efficiency, and strong community support.

While AVEVA Historian currently supports platforms like VMware and Hyper-V, enabling compatibility with Proxmox would offer several advantages:

  • Cost Reduction: Proxmox eliminates licensing costs associated with proprietary hypervisors.

  • Flexibility: It supports both virtual machines and containers, allowing for more agile deployment strategies.

  • Stability and Performance: Proxmox has proven to be reliable in production environments, especially when running Windows-based VMs.

  • Growing Adoption: Many organizations are transitioning to open-source infrastructure, and Proxmox is a leading choice.

I believe that official support or validation of AVEVA Historian on Proxmox VE would empower users with more deployment options and align with modern infrastructure trends.

Thank you for considering this request.

Best regards
