BACNET: Addressing objects via ObjectName

We have several requests for accessing BACNET objects via their "ObjectName", rather than their HW address ie: AI.1.PresentValue.

There are 2 issues with the current way of addressing:

  • Makes it difficult to make equipment

  • Some PLC’s (ie Wago) shifts the HW address when adding IO (>Driving the integrators nuts.)
