We created this site to hear your enhancement ideas, suggestions and feedback about AVEVA products and services. All of the feedback you share here is monitored and reviewed by the AVEVA product managers.

Disable the extra Citect32 executables if the new web component is not used

In V2023 a new chromium web component was introduced. This causes extra Citect32 processes started. The ExampleSA project starts 10 Citect32.exes instead of the 5 (I/Om Alarm, Trend, Report and Client) you would expect (not in service mode). Would be nice to disable it using a parameter or not starting these extra Citect32's if the web component isn't used on any pages of the project (even better)

There are SI's and end-users who have tooling for monitoring the number of instances of the Citect32.exe.

    Thanks for the feedback and feature improvement idea. This has been enhanced in the latest Plant SCADA 2023 July update 7. Runtime

    2295143 - INI parameter required to disable Web Content

    A new INI parameter [Animator]EnableWebContent has been added. Set this to 0 (default = 1) to disable Web Content at runtime. This will prevent the creation of extra Citect32 processes.
