Remove Engine Option

Kill Platform is a good utility that is available to remove Platform if its stuck in deployment/undeployment however nothing like that exists for engine. But most of the times, the platform i& other engines are working fine. A utility to remove engine and re-deploy it should be there.

    Hi Lakshay,

The Kill Platform utility was fully built into the OCMC (previously SMC) in 2023 R2. On the platform manager in the OCMC, a right-click will allow you to select "Remove Platform" even if it registers no platform, resetting the node to a stable state for deployment. On that same utility, if the platform is running, you can select it and it will display engines. Here you can stop any engine. If you were unable to use this, could you please log a tech support issue? AppEngines are at their core simply executables - you should be able to stop it and force an undeployment.

Thank you for your response and suggestion. We are indeed aware of the Kill Platform Utility integrated into OCMC, and we used it with Tech Support yesterday to terminate a functioning platform due to a problematic engine that was stuck in a Startup Failed state and wouldn't deploy or undeploy. Even the Principal Engineer from Tech Support was unable to resolve the issue. Multiple restarts even on platform level, forced undeploy-deploy nothing worked. And this is not just one of case, this has happened multiple times. As a result, we had to kill the entire platform, which caused the engines that were operating well to go down. Therefore, the request to kill engines is justified.
