Change tab in multiple or tabbed pane by script

This request would greatly enhance the OMI user experience e.g. when heavy graphics are involved.

When using OMI with multiple or tabbed panes, it would be very useful to be able to select already loaded content in a multiple or tabbed pane via script without reloading the graphics using the current ShowContent() function. Since this function is reloading the graphics even though the graphic is allready present in one of the pane tabs.

Also, when using the Navigation app, only the top stack pane in a multiple-pane layout loads the navigated content. This means that if you want to navigate to content that is already loaded (for example, in Pane1.Tab4), this is not possible in OMI today.

Implementing this capability would greatly enhance the user experience, since preloaded graphics have no loading time when switching between tabs.

There are two possible approaches:

  1. Introduce an option for ShowContent() to detect if the target graphic already exists in one of the tabs, and instead of reloading it, simply activate that tab (or bring it to the top of the stack). Or a sort of "don't reload content" option in the pane properties.

  2. Provide a new function that allows direct control of pane tabs, either by index number or by the graphic name shown in the tab header.
