ADO Work Item #2335284 — Project Delivery-Chevron: Requesting a method to run cmxrepclient and DPutil from a non-realtime server
https://dev.azure.com/AVEVA-VSTS/_workitems/edit/2335284
RESOLUTION
RID: Closed as enhancement request.
DESCRIPTION
Customer is looking for instructions to run DPUtil and CMXREPClient from Support servers.
Email from customer:
"According to the new architecture in which the Realtime and Historical servers are installed with Windows CORE; we need to run all OASyS tools from the Support Server, especially during a Mode Switch, in which we need to verify the replication for Realtime using CMXRepClient and Historical using DPUtil."
The customer has already attempted to copy the cmxrepclient executable to the support server but was unable to get it to correctly run hence the question around how to make this happen.
As for the DPUtil they were able to copy the files to the support server and get it to run but would like to have some sort of written instructions to make sure they are not missing anything.
Presumably it would be as simple as installing the datapump applications in the support server using the installation media, but need to have this verified.
Operational Impact
Client strategy is unable to use Support Server to monitor replication and datapump.
Expectations:
This is ES2022 SP1 P1
Client wants these tools running on the Support Server - maybe included in the next patch release around September timeframe.
Alternatively, client wants guidance from R&D to manually copy files and configuration to their Support Server to get them to work.
Work-around: None
