have HMI2023 on Windows 10 2021 LTSC be supported with ES2021 SP1

Customer is in the process of purchasing new workstations based on their standard build which includes the Gen-12 processors. The processor they selected was released in Q1 2022 so it isn’t brand new.

Based on Microsoft and Intel’s websites, the Gen-12 and Gen-13 processors are only supported on Windows 10 (20H2,21H1,21H2) which for us means Windows 10 2021 LTSC (AKA 21H2).

The only HMI that is supported on this OS is HMI 2023 which is only compatible with ES2022 or ES2023.

Customer is running ES2021 SP1 which means that they will be forced to upgrade from ES2021 to ES2022 or ES2023, just to be able to run the HMI on their new workstation HW.

Expectation

Request to perform and certify compatibility between ES2021 and HMI2023, to allow customers to use the latest CPU in their workstations running Windows 10 2021 LTSC (aka 21H2).

Idea business value

Customer is against using a different workstation hardware design as they do not want to move away from their standard for various reasons, one being they want to use current generation HW components.

The processor they selected was released in Q1 2022 so it isn’t brand new.
