CRM Point to Point Verification Enhancement

To address PHMSA finding and to improve commissioning experience, we are looking to add the following data fields to CRM database and improve the existing display to support the fields.

Field (with examples)

Description

Engg Units (Pull from database, i.e. PSI/kg)

To populate units used from analog, rate, tanks.

LD Verified By (free text field, i.e. Chong Liu)

To store the name who verified Leak Detection, if applicable.

PLC Alarm Limit (free text field, i.e. 30 ppm)

To store alarm limit, if the alarm is generated from an analog.

Alarm Priority (drop down 1-5, would be nice if this can be pulled from database)

To populate alarm priority as seen in Alarm Summary (P1-P3), not the base message.

Alarm/Point Description (Pull point description from database)

To populate the alarm message as seen in Alarm Summary, if applicable.

Device Associated with the Alarm (free text field, i.e. PR-4-V-1)

To store which device (e.g. valve, pump) is displaying the alarm/status, when rollup or flextag is applicable.

Deficiency Tracker (free text field i.e. OASyS-1107)

To store where deficiency will be tracked, if applicable.

Verification Date (Date field, i.e. 2023/6/6)

To store verification date if different than the time of writing to CRM.dbo.points database.

Multi-Phased Date (Date field i.e. 2023/6/6)

To store verification date of field to PLC, if the test is simulated due to two-phase verification.

Output1 (free text field, i.e. open/close/stop)
Output2 (free text field)
Output3 (free text field)

To store output values or event log, if applicable.

Previous Pointname Previous Pointname (free text field, i.e. PR-4-V-1)

To store previous pointname if the record is renamed.

The following fields further elaborated from the original request:

  • Engg Units, free text field, with default value pulled from database where possible

  • Alarm Priority, severity field extracted from the alarm record created during field simulated condition. Captured with a button click when the user confirms the alarm is created in the SCADA system

  • Alarm description, message field extracted from the alarm record created during field simulated condition. Captured with a button click when the user confirms the alarm is created in the SCADA system

  • Verification Date, currently read-only field, to be converted to a datetime picker object that defaults to current time, but allows user to modify as required.

  • Previous Pointname, free text field with no further logic required.

  • Point Verification Control display need to be changed to allow multi-instance, up to 10 instances.

Customer is looking to find out whether the request is feasible, an estimate for the scope of work, with an additional criteria on ease of deployment. This will go into System2 (2020 SP1) to start, but expected to be delivered to all current and future version of the SCADA system.

They want to have it ASAP, or whatever the smallest turnaround period that can be applied to these things.
