The Read-Only variant of the OMI Layout editor has numerous viewing and navigation features disabled that severely limit its usefulness. As these features do not modify the content of the layout, they should be enabled to improve developer experience. The only workarounds are to open the layout in edit mode to re-enable the features, or to duplicate the layout and edit the copy, both of which defeat the purpose of a read-only mode.

Re-enabling the below features would bring the read-only layout editor's behavior in line with that of the read only Industrial Graphic editor.

"Build" tab:

• When viewing the Content Properties of selected content, the text boxes for Custom Properties do not allow text selection. This means you can't select text to copy, and strings longer than a few words are cut off and unreadable as the field can't be panned.

"Script" tab:

• Scrolling the script body window is disabled, cutting off scripts longer than the user's monitor is capable of fitting on one screen.

• ⁠Colored syntax highlighting is disabled, making all script text display as faded gray on a white background. This makes it harder to follow the logic of the script.

• The script body window does not allow text selection, preventing copying text.

• The Expression field does not allow text selection, preventing copying text, and cutting off long expressions as the field can't be panned.

• The Zoom, Find, and Go To controls (and their hotkeys) are disabled.
