We created this site to hear your enhancement ideas, suggestions and feedback about AVEVA products and services. All of the feedback you share here is monitored and reviewed by the AVEVA product managers.

Update from Craig: SNMP (v2) was delivered on the ABCWUA project, as per the contract. Their IT group later asked if we could provide V3, which includes authentication and encryption. Jake advised that they had no plans to develop it, and I passed this on to ABCWUA. It turns out that the customer has other ways to monitor the health of network devices, so they may end up not using SNMP at all.

Thanks, Craig. This would have to be delivered from our Extensions team, led by Collin H. Do you have project timelines yet? And which version of Enterprise SCADA are you targetting? If so, I suggest we request a quote from Collin to get a sense of his capacity and ability to deliver to your needs.
The ABCWUA customer has Cisco switches and firewalls that they want to monitor. These devices support V.3. We would need the V.3 features that allow communication with these Cisco devices. The key features presumably would be the cryptographic security ones, such as replacing the simple password sharing (as clear text) used by V.2.
ABCWUA customer is being provided with SNMP V2. However, they have requested v3.
